Blood Multiplayer

Boy, oh boy! For Blood Multiplayer, things have changed. I do enjoy talking about my previous experience playing Blood online!

It was towards the end of 2011 that I came onto Blood's multiplayer scene on YouTube. These videos of multiplayer gameplay are typically uploaded by players such as Aichmorhabdophobia (Maligned) and ToxicBarrel (Gargoyle). When I first tried YANG (Yet Another Network Guider), I was unable to locate any Blood games. That or I was simply impatient at the moment. That's when I discovered Meltdown, which is similar to YANG but feels simpler to locate players. Sometime in December of 2011, I would register on Meltdown using a ridiculous nickname that I don't even bother to mention anymore.

While I have occasionally played Shadow Warrior (Wangbang) and Duke Nukem 3D (Dukematch) in addition to Bloodbaths, I spent the majority of my time playing Blood multiplayer there. But as time passed (I believe sometime in 2012), my immature behavior caused me to eventually become a little burned out (because I was young and didn't know any better at the time). I resumed playing Blood multiplayer at some point in 2015. At the time, I had even joined a Facebook group dedicated to Blood. It was here that I made friends with Bernaise King, Nyyss0nen, and a few other people.

After my Bloodbath match with a Meltdown user and a LAN party with a school mate, 2016 continued to pass. After the first five years of Blood Multiplayer, I finally felt burned out and quit. However, the release of BloodGDX in 2017 would mark the beginning of the source port trend. I hadn't played many multiplayer games with BloodGDX when the multiplayer functionality launched, so I wasn't entirely out of retirement. At the time, I wasn't a fan of BloodGDX's mouse input.

When 2020 arrived, I was getting close to leaving retirement when I became a member of OpenRift's DOSBox Deathmatch Club and took part in the Blood event on February 15, 2020. Around this same period, there was "undeniable evidence" that Meltdown was malware. After that, not many people used Meltdown. Instead, the Blood Discord community implemented a dedicated NBlood server system for playing Bloodbath games, complete with a dummy player to give the impression that it was a dedicated server. However, some users continued to use Meltdown by using an altered version of NBlood that included the "-broadcast" argument.

When RDR.EXE and his buddies and I started playing NBlood multiplayer. Also, I was taking part in the BIGEYE events hosted by Kugee of Razorback95.com, which entailed playing deathmatches in QuakeWorld to commemorate the upload of each new episode. On October 30, 2020, the last BIGEYE event was held. I'll be honest—I was so happy about the conclusion and even got credited for the joy I had with the Razorback staff that I almost began tearing. I was able to overcome my antisocial behavior due to this.

Returning to the subject of my return in Blood Multiplayer, I learned about the uses for the Tesla Cannon and Voodoo Doll. I also discovered that a strong match could be ruined by the Deathmask powerup (Invulnerability). I owe a big debt of gratitude to everyone that let me escape antisocial hell while enjoying Blood multiplayer so much.

Time for me to logoff, Thanks for reading!
